Create Glitch Art Videos For Our Vine Challenge

By Annie Park2014-10-03 03:00:22 UTC Fans of broken masterpieces and digital disruption, this challenge is for you. Glitch art highlights digital faults and turns them into works of beauty. Though in recent years it s been done mostly in photographs, the feature exists in videos, too. For this week s Mashable Vine Challenge, we want to see a stream of glitchy six-second videos. You can play with pixels in an animation or riff off last week s challenge and endlessly duplicate short frames using Vine s latest update. Our example, below, plays with prisms, stones and water. We shot several frames and repeated them multiple times to create a glitch effect. We re looking for random and creative submissions. The more broken, the better. Because no matter what, it s not a bug, it s art. Upload your Vines by Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. ET using the hashtag #GlitchVideo. We ll revine a few of our favorite submissions, and feature more on Mashable. Have something to add to this story? Share it
